Issued annually in conjunction with Alberta Education's business plan, this resource contains the ministry's business plan measures along with supplementary measures which, taken together, reflect a comprehensive assessment of the province's kindergarten to Grade 12 education system.

This statistic describes headcounts (unique learners) by institution and academic year within Alberta's publicly-funded post-secondary education system. Headcounts represent the number of students enrolled, and are unique to each level reported, therefore summing up multiple values to "combine" values may lead to double counting, as students can be counted in multiple rows. The data tables presented are related to enrolments in approved programs at publicly-funded post-secondary institutions within Alberta. Separate data files exist focusing on the system level, or for subsets that focus on either international or self-identified Indigenous learners.

Description

The set of statistics in these datasets describe the Full Load Equivalent (FLE) by each institution and academic year within Alberta's publicly funded post-secondary education system. FLE is a measure used to allow for comparable calculations across different institutions, across different programs. The FLE is measured by taking the load of the learner enrolled (instructional hours + practicum hours) and dividing by the full load of that program. This results in a comparable metric to be able to use across the system. The FLE calculation is consistent for every institution and program. The data tables presented are related to enrolments in approved programs at publicly funded post-secondary institutions within Alberta. Separate data files exist focusing on the system level, or for subsets that focus on either international or self-identified Indigenous learners.

Separate data files exist focusing on the system level, or for subsets that focus on either international or self-identified Indigenous learners.

Respondents for the 2021/22 survey include senior high school students, self-identified First Nations, Métis and Inuit high school students, parents of students in the Early Childhood Services (ECS) to Grade 12 education system, parents of self-identified First Nations, Métis and Inuit students, parents of students with severe disabilities, teachers in the ECS to Grade 12 system, principals, school board trustees, and the general public. This record contains the survey instruments used in the 2021/22 survey.

Alberta Education conducts a set of annual telephone surveys to obtain feedback from education system partners regarding their perceptions of Alberta’s education system. Respondents for the 2020 surveys include senior high school students, self-identified First Nations, Métis and Inuit high school students, parents of students in the K–12 education system, parents of self-identified First Nations, Métis and Inuit students, parents of students with severe disabilities, teachers in the K–12 system, school board trustees, and the general public. The surveys were conducted by CCI Research from the first week of March to last week of July 2020.

This report presents the results on 34 survey measure indicators identified by the Review Committee on Outcomes (RCO). The survey questions were part of the 2020 Satisfaction with Education in Alberta Surveys of senior high school students, parents of Kindergarten to Grade 12 students, teachers, school board trustees, and the general public. Note that Principal and Superintendent Surveys although part of the RCO measure indicators were not administered in 2020 and thus excluded in the 2020 overall measure calculations. Caution should be exercised when interpreting the results over time.
