Critical habitat is identified for species listed as Endangered or Threatened under the federal Species at Risk Act (SARA) and where federal critical habitat protection orders are in effect. Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) is the responsible authority for the protection, recovery and conservation of all listed aquatic species at risk in Canada. Critical habitat is defined as the habitat that is necessary for the survival or recovery of a listed wildlife species and that is identified as such in the recovery strategy or action plan for the species (https://www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/species-risk-public-registry.html). SARA makes it illegal to destroy any part of the critical habitat of a listed species and may impose restrictions on development and construction. Species in this layer have federal protection of critical habitat under a Critical Habitat Order pursuant to subsections 58(4) and (5) of SARA, which brings into force the subsection 58(1)...

Alberta laws authorize the creation or incorporation of certain non-profit organizations and extra-provincial registration of organizations from other provinces and countries. In Alberta, incorporation can take place under the Agricultural Societies Act, Companies Act, Religious Societies Lands Act, Societies Act, and a small number of private acts. Extra-provincial registration of non-profit organizations from outside Alberta takes place under the Business Corporations Act. The list indicates the type of organization, the name of the non-profit organization, its current status, its registration date, city, and postal code.

The Government Estimates report the requirements for public monies from the General Revenue Fund to fund the operations of the Government for the applicable fiscal year. Together with the Offices of the Legislative Assembly Estimates, the estimates documents identify the total requirements for public monies from the General Revenue Fund for the year. The estimates make up part of the Government’s annual budget, which also includes the fiscal plan, the government’s strategic or performance plan, and the ministry business plans. Alberta Health monitors all supportive living and long-term care accommodations for compliance to the Accommodation Standards, the Resident and Family Councils Act (RFCA) and the Continuing Care Health Service Standards (CCHSS). The purpose of the Accommodation Standards is to ensure accommodations maintain a high quality of accommodation services (e.g. meals, building maintenance, security and housekeeping) that promote the safety, security and quality of life of Albertans living in those accommodations. The RFCA is intended to support residents and their families in establishing an effective Resident and Family Council. The CCHSS are a set of legislated, minimum standards that operators must comply with in the provision of health care (e.g., medication management, care planning, staff training).
