Director's Order imposed on Canadian Quality Home Services Inc and Patrick Duchownik to cease taking advantage of consumers who are not able to understand the character, nature, language, or effect of the consumer transaction or any matter related to the transaction, to cease charging a price for goods or services that grossly exceeds the price at which similar goods or services are readily available, without informing the consumer of the difference in price and the reason for the difference, to cease including in a consumer transaction any terms or conditions that are harsh, oppressive, or excessively one-sided, to cease making representations that a consumer transaction involves or does not involve rights, remedies, or obligations that are different from the fact, to give consumers the total price of the goods or services, and to cease giving less prominence to the total price of the goods and services than to the amount of the instalment, and to ensure that written direct sales contracts meet the requirements of the Consumer Protection Act.

A director’s order can be issued for any breach of the Consumer Protection Act, the Cemeteries Act or their regulations and is used as a tool that requires a person to come into compliance with legislation. A director's order can be issued to a supplier if the supplier: has breached the Consumer Protection Act or Regulations; uses any form, agreement, letter or other document that's misleading or contains a term that misrepresents fair trade regulations; or publishes an advertisement that's misleading or contains a term that breaks fair trade regulations. The director's order can direct a person to stop engaging in anything that's described in the order, and to take any measures specified in the order to ensure that fair trade regulations are followed.
