Accommodation standards : continuing care home information guide

Description

According to the Continuing Care Regulation under the Continuing Care Act, all licensed type A and type B continuing care home (formerly long-term care and designated supportive living, respectively) operators are legally required to follow the provincial standards. The accommodation standards provide the standards for voluntary, public, and private organizations operating type A and B continuing care homes. The standards direct operators of continuing care homes in the delivery of quality accommodation services to residents. The purpose of the accommodation standards is to ensure that all type A and B continuing care home operators maintain a high quality of accommodation services that promote the safety, security, and quality of life for Albertans living in those continuing care homes. Operators of continuing care homes will also be able to provide assurances to residents, employees, the public and municipalities that their continuing care homes are operating in accordance with established accommodation standards.
