Flat Top Complex : final report from the Flat Top Complex Wildfire Review Committee

Description

The Minister of Sustainable Resource Development created the Flat Top Complex Wildfire Review Committee to assess Alberta's wildfire management program with a focus on the department's response to the wildfires that entered the Town of Slave Lake and nearby communities of Poplar Estates, Canyon Creek, and Widewater in May, 2011. This report presents the findings of the committee and makes 21 recommendations. The Government of Alberta has fully met the intent of all 21 recommendations, and initiatives that respond to the recommendations have been incorporated within Agriculture and Forestry's wildfire management program.
