Environmental assessment registry documents pertaining to the proposed St. Mary River Irrigation District Chin Reservoir Expansion project. Chin Reservoir is an off-stream storage reservoir that is located roughly in the middle of St. Mary River Irrigation District (SMRID) irrigation network, approximately 30 kilometers (km) east of Lethbridge and 15 km south of Taber. The Chin Reservoir Expansion Project (the Project) involves the construction of a new dam which would result in a larger reservoir. The new dam would be approximately 40 meters (m) in height and is expected to inundate (flood) approximately 650 hectares (ha) of privately held land within Chin Coulee. The Modernizing Alberta's Primary Health Care System initiative has been established to strengthen primary health care in Alberta and ensure all Albertans have access to timely, appropriate primary health care services. The Indigenous Advisory Panel was established to provide advice and recommendations to help transform the primary health care system in order to provide accessible, relevant, and culturally safe primary health care to First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. This report from the Panel provides an interim step toward building a long-term strategic road map for primary health care modernization for Indigenous peoples in Alberta.

The Strategic Advisory Panel brought together local health care leaders, patients and experts to work with Indigenous Panel and International Expert Panel members to identify immediate and long term recommendations for making improvements, monitoring progress on initiatives and reducing pressure on the acute care system. This document summarizes the Panel's advice regarding early actions to improve primary health care in Alberta.
