This item has been replaced by a more recent resource or the content may be otherwise out of date. It is provided for informational and research purposes.
Description

This protocol quantifies decreases in greenhouse gas emissions associated with the raising of beef cattle by reducing the number of days required to get a feeder calf from birth to harvest. This applies to youthful cattle, or those cattle under 24 months of age. In this context, feeder cattle that spend less time in backgrounding lots, on pasture and in the feedlot result in decreased greenhouse gas emissions. Withdrawn as of March 31, 2020.
