This annual dataset provides planned fish stocking information on waterbodies within Alberta during the spring and fall stocking seasons. Please note that fish species, number stocked, and dates may change without notice. Actual fish stocking numbers are reported in the Fish Stocking Report, which is updated weekly or biweekly during spring and fall stocking seasons (see Related tab).

Description

The Alberta Recreation Survey is a series of surveys that have been conducted approximately every four years since 1981. The survey collects information related to participation patterns of Albertans and the factors which influence their recreation activity choices. The following questions have consistently been included in each survey: participation by household members and respondents in an extensive array of social, creative, cultural, recreation, outdoor and sport activities; respondents' three favourite activities and reasons for participation in their first favourite activity; an activity respondents would like to start and the reasons for not starting the activity, involvement as a volunteer; opinions on recreation and parks activities and services and demographic information about the respondents and their households. Results provide insight into emerging trends, help monitor the effectiveness of programs and services and inform decisions by enhancing the Government of Alberta's understanding of the needs of Albertans.
