This dataset serves as a public tracking system for responses to recommendations made by judges as a result of a public fatality inquiry. For each inquiry, the tracking system records the name of the deceased, the cause and manner of death, the recommendations made by the judge to prevent similar deaths, the persons and organizations who were asked to respond to the recommendations, and their responses, if any.

This Alberta Official Statistic describes the violent and household victimization rates for Canada and provinces for the year 2004, 2009 and 2014. The rate is based on incidence per 1,000 population in each province. The Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics (CCJS) utilizes the results of the General Social Survey (GSS) to measure self-reported victimization. The GSS gathers information on social trends over time and measures the wellbeing of Canadians. The victimization portion of the survey is designed to look at the nature of criminal victimization in Canada. The 2014 GSS had 33,127 respondents aged 15 and older living in the 10 provinces. The cycle on victimization, which is conducted every five years, collects information on personal accounts of criminal victimization for eight crime types: sexual assault, robbery, physical assault, break and enter, theft of motor vehicles or parts, theft of household property, vandalism and theft of personal property. (StatCan Product) This information product has been customized to present information from the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics with reference year 2014. The spreadsheet details census subdivision (CSD) to respondent code mapping in Alberta. Please note that it is not suggested to derive crime statistics by CSD with the use of the concordance tables. For example, if a respondent code contains three CSDs, the client cannot simply divide the crime by three. The only time that would be possible is when a one-to-one mapping occurs, that is, when a respondent code maps directly to a CSD, and is the only CSD within that respondent code boundary.

This Alberta Official Statistic describes the Crime Severity Index for Canada and Provinces, 1998 to 2014. Crime Severity Index is a measure of the seriousness of police-reported crime. It covers all Criminal Code violations including traffic, as well as drug violations and violations of all Federal Statutes. Each criminal offence is weighted based on sentences given. The Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics (CCJS), in co-operation with the policing community, collects police-reported crime statistics through the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Survey. The UCR Survey was designed to measure the incidence of crime in Canadian society and its characteristics. UCR data reflect reported crime that has been substantiated by police. Information collected by the survey includes the number of criminal incidents, the clearance status of those incidents and persons-charged information.
