Description

This data set includes five years of historical enrolment by Full Load Equivalents (FLE) in Alberta post-secondary system and projected FLEs for a ten year projection horizon. The FLE is measured by taking the load of the learner enrolled (instructional hours + practicum hours) and dividing by the full load of that program. This results in a comparable metric to be able to use across the system. The FLE calculation is consistent for every institution and program. Alberta Advanced Education's (AE) projection model uses historical enrolment data and population projections from Alberta Treasury Board and Finance as inputs to the model.

The listing of historic resources identifies lands that contain or are believed to contain historic resources, including primarily archaeological and palaeontological sites, Indigenous traditional use sites of a historic resource nature, and historic structures. Issued twice a year, it provides industry and other developers with advance notification of possible historic resource concerns. Alberta Township System coordinates are provided for each historic resource area.

This report presents the number of student enrolments by French program type, authority, school, and grade, and is sourced from the end of June for each school year. A summary of enrolments in each program type since 1988, as well as graphs, are also included. Ce rapport présente le nombre d’élèves inscrits par type de programme de langue française, par autorité scolaire, par école et par niveau scolaire. Il a été élaboré à partir des données disponibles à la fin de juin de chaque année scolaire. Le rapport inclut également un résumé des inscriptions pour chaque type de programme, à parti de 1988, et des graphiques.

Description

Mercury (Hg) enters the environment through natural processes and human activities. There are three forms of Hg: elemental (metallic) mercury, inorganic mercury salts and organic mercury compounds. Methylmercury (MeHg) is often formed from inorganic mercury during biological processes such as methylation by microorganisms in water and sediment. MeHg can accumulate in aquatic organisms including fish. People are exposed to very low levels of mercury in the air, water and food. Some people may be exposed to relatively higher levels of mercury by eating MeHg-containing fish. MeHg accumulates in the human body over time and because it is a known neurotoxin, it is necessary to limit human exposure to MeHg. To protect public health, Health Canada has proposed mercury guidelines and advisories for fish consumption based on total mercury (THg; all forms of Hg in a sample). The Government Estimates report the requirements for public monies from the General Revenue Fund to fund the operations of the Government for the applicable fiscal year. Together with the Offices of the Legislative Assembly Estimates, the estimates documents identify the total requirements for public monies from the General Revenue Fund for the year. The estimates make up part of the Government’s annual budget, which also includes the fiscal plan, the government’s strategic or performance plan, and the ministry business plans. Note: Supplementary information on financial entities and consolidation adjustments has been moved into a separate Entity Financial Information volume published in electronic form. See the Related tab.
