Environmental Assessment registry documents and Environmental Impact Assessment and associated applications pertaining to the proposed Alberta Silica Corporation (ASC) Peace River Silica Sand Operations Project. (ASC is a wholly owned subsidiary of United Industrial Services Ltd. (UIS).) ASC is authorized to explore the silica sand under Metallic and Industrial Minerals Permit No. 9393080332; ASC is authorized to extract the silica sand under Metallic and Industrial Mineral Lease No. 9496110001; and to surface develop, on Crown land, the sand pits and the processing plant required under Mineral Surface Lease No. MSL 941817. The lease area comprises approximately 1300 hectares (3200 acres), 300 ha (740 acres) on the west side and approximately 1010 ha (2500 acres) on the east side of the Peace River. This Seniors, Community and Social Services (SCSS) dataset describes the monthly Income Support caseload in Alberta, including two client groups: those Expected to Work (ETW) and those who have Barriers to Full Employment (BFE). Income Support provides financial benefits to individuals and families who do not have the resources to meet their basic needs, like food, clothing, and shelter. The caseload is defined as the number of households categorized as ETW or BFE during a specific reporting period. Most commonly, this is reported as the average volume for a specific period (e.g., annually).   The composition of the caseload is made up of single individuals, lone-parent families, couples with children and couples without children. This study developed numeric nutrient target ranges, representing low, moderate and high risk of aquatic ecosystem impairment, for small agricultural streams in Alberta in the absence of Alberta-specific numeric nutrient water quality guidelines. The transport of nutrients, such as nitrogen and phosphorus, from agricultural areas into surface water can lead to eutrophication of waterbodies. As a user of water, Alberta’s agriculture sector has a vested interest in surface water protection. Numeric guidelines for nutrients in surface waters serve a valuable role as benchmarks for water quality monitoring and watershed management programs, and agricultural sustainability initiatives.
