This data set reflects child care programs in Alberta licensed under the Child Care Licensing Act (prior to February 2021) and under the Early Learning and Child Care Act (February 2021 and after).   Data prior to February 2021 included reflects child care programs in Alberta licensed under the Child Care Licensing Act. Program types under the Child Care Licensing Act included day care programs, out-of-school care programs, preschool programs, group family child care, family day homes (approved by a licensed family day home agency), and innovative child care programs.   In February 2021, child care licensing changed from program-based to facility-based under the Early Learning and Child Care Act. There are now four types of licenses: facility-based programs, group family child care programs, family day homes (approved by a licensed family day home agency), and innovative child care programs. A student cohort is a group of students who are registered in a specific grade at a public, separate, Francophone, charter, provincial, federal or accredited private school. Service regions are defined areas of the province that provide a framework for better understanding local factors relating to learning and programming at a regional level. In consultation with stakeholders, regional boundaries were drawn based on Dissemination Area (DA) boundaries and the area generally served by Comprehensive Community Institutions.

The annual results and participation rates for diploma examinations administered to students in Alberta schools. Diploma results and participation rates are aggregated into separate reports for the following levels: provincial, school authority, and school. Data elements are suppressed (represented as N/A) if fewer than six students are included in the calculation. The diploma exam results data includes the number of students writing, the percentage of students achieving the standard of excellence and the acceptable standard, the average percentage mark, and basic statistical attributes. These elements are included for both the school-awarded and the diploma exam marks for diploma courses in each of the past five school years. The diploma exam participation rates data includes the number of students in a cohort that is completing their third year of high school based on the school year they entered grade 10, the number of students in that cohort that participated in each of the...
