Description

The Primary Health Care Evaluation Framework is intended to support ongoing assessment and evaluation of primary health care in the province and to contribute to continuing efforts to strengthen Alberta’s primary health care system. Although the Framework focuses on Primary Care Networks and the recently-introduced Family Care Clinics, it is intended to be applicable to all available primary health care services in Alberta. The Framework contains a series of discrete but associated components that can be used to evaluate unique aspects of Alberta Health’s service models. These components include a logic model, core evaluation questions, measurement concepts, and a description of the five key evaluation activities supported by the Framework.

Sundance Provincial Park is located in the Foothills Natural Region of west central Alberta approximately 21 kilometres west of Edson. The Sundance Provincial Park Management Plan provides a long-term vision and day-to-day guidance for stewardship of the park. Staff of Alberta Environment, within the context of existing legislation and regulations, prepared the plan. It outlines the type and extent of outdoor recreation and tourism opportunities, facilities and services. The plan provides direction regarding the delivery of heritage appreciation programs that assist Albertans and visitors to understand and appreciate our natural heritage while ensuring its ongoing preservation. The management plan was developed with public input and is intended to provide for the periodic review and revision to reflect the current thinking of Albertans on how our natural heritage will be preserved for present and future generations. The plan identifies 180 recommended actions which fall under 10 areas of emphasis, namely sport participation, excellence in sport, leadership and volunteer development, sport marketing and communication, business of sport, facilities, funding, ethics in sport/safe environment, research, development and planning and sport organizations and partnerships.

On January 8, 2002, the Premier’s Advisory Council on Health released its report on how to put Alberta’s health care system on a sustainable foundation. The report focuses on people—those who use and provide health care—and makes recommendations on building wellness, collaboration, accountability and innovation as keys to a quality health care system, now and for the future. The government has responded with a plan of action on health—a plan that starts now on building a stronger public health care system for our children and grandchildren.
