The LERB is an independent quasi-judicial body established under the Police Act. Its principal activity is to hear appeals for both citizens and police officers separate and apart from the police service involved. The principal objective of the board is independent and impartial review.

Environmental assessment registry documents pertaining to the proposed St. Mary River Irrigation District Chin Reservoir Expansion project. Chin Reservoir is an off-stream storage reservoir that is located roughly in the middle of St. Mary River Irrigation District (SMRID) irrigation network, approximately 30 kilometers (km) east of Lethbridge and 15 km south of Taber. The Chin Reservoir Expansion Project (the Project) involves the construction of a new dam which would result in a larger reservoir. The new dam would be approximately 40 meters (m) in height and is expected to inundate (flood) approximately 650 hectares (ha) of privately held land within Chin Coulee. Monthly notice of the general rate of timber dues for timber that is used to make lumber, pulp or roundwood products, including the portion of dues collected by the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta. Timber dues and other fees associated with timber dispositions are collected by the province to ensure that Albertans receive fair compensation for the use of publicly-owned forest resources. The timber dues rates applied are based on current market and financial conditions are can be found in Table 1 of the Timber Dues Ministerial Order. NOTE: previously issued under the title General Rates of Timber.

Effective the beginning of day on April 1, 2024, Alberta’s fuel tax rate is increasing from $0.09 per litre to $0.13 per litre. The rate increase applies to clear gasoline and diesel, ethanol, ethanol blended gasoline, biodiesel, blended diesel, methanol and condensate used to generate power in an internal combustion or turbine engine. The effective rate of fuel tax applicable to marked gasoline and diesel, after applying the tax-exempt consumer exemption, will be $0.04 per litre.
