Description

This Code of Practice is effective February 1, 2025. The Code provides details and requirements regarding the safe sales, handling, use and application of pesticides in Alberta to ensure environmental protection. Pesticide applicators, users, services and vendors affected by this Code must meet all its requirements to ensure their activities are in compliance with Alberta’s environmental laws. The Code applies to pesticide use in a variety of applications, including forest management, industrial vegetation management (roadside, powerline, pipeline and utility rights-of-way), structural pest control, fumigation, use within 30 metres of an open body of water, and mosquito control. The Code also provides the requirements and checklists for applicator and dispenser assistants.

The Alberta Corporate Tax Regulation supports the administrative process for the collection, reporting and remittance of income tax by corporations with a permanent establishment in Alberta as set out in the Alberta Corporate Tax Act. The Regulation clarifies the calculation of taxable income earned in Alberta, prescribes leases and specifies rates for the purpose of the royalty tax credit, clarifies aspects of the Alberta Scientific Research and Experimental Development tax credit, provides for the Alberta Qualifying Environmental Trust tax credit, and prescribes the quarterly interest rates for the purposes of the Act.

The Matters Relating to Assessment and Taxation Regulation, 2018 is a regulation authorized by sections 322 and 370 of the Municipal Government Act, as amended. This regulation came into force on January 1, 2018 and applies to all Alberta municipalities. MRAT 2018 regulation sets out important definitions and interpretation provisions for the annual identification and preparation of property assessments; rules for preparing annual assessment valuations using market value and/or using regulated Minister’s Guideline manuals; rules for requesting information pertaining to property and property assessments, and levying property taxes; and assessment and tax exemptions for farm residences and farm buildings, describes the process for preparing equalized assessments, and authorizes assessment audits.
