A review was completed of the extreme fire season, the Province’s wildfire management program, and its response to the recommendations provided in the Flat Top Complex Wildfire Review Committee Final Report. It finds that the response to the Lesser Slave Lake disaster met or exceeded standards and leading practices from around the globe, and also highlights innovative practices to be captured for the future and lessons to be learned. It makes 19 recommendations to enhance emergency preparedness, response and recovery.
