The Métis Women’s Council on Economic Security was established to provide advice and recommendations to the Government of Alberta on strategies to improve the economic security of Indigenous women in Alberta. The Council’s 2016 report and recommendations puts forth recommendations in the areas of government procurement, Indigenous tourism and the arts, and trauma-informed care (health and wellness). This report presents the Council’s recommendations and the Government of Alberta’s response to these recommendations.
