Description
Environmental assessment registry documents pertaining to the proposed Shell Canada Limited Quest Carbon Capture & Storage Project. The proposal involves capture, transport and storage of CO2, however provincial EIA is only required for the storage component of the proposed project. 1.2 million tonnes of CO2 per year would be captured and transported by pipeline to injections wells 2km below surface in Basal Cambrian Sands. The approximate location of the storage area is in the County of Thorhild. The EIA was deemed complete in 2011. For more information on the environmental assessment process visit ea.alberta.ca.
