Description

The purpose of the bridge conceptual design phase of a bridge design is to find the most suitable solution for a roadway to cross a stream, road, or other facility. These guidelines cover all aspects of bridge conceptual design, including bridge location, sizing, geometrics, and protection works. This document provides certain criteria that must be met with all feasible options, as well as a description of the process and technical considerations to be employed to arrive at the optimal solution.
