Each issue of the Industry Activity Report provides the most current data available for Alberta's drilling activity. Included in the report are data for new licenses, spuds, land sales, rig activity and well completions. Due to data updates and possible retroactive revisions to the historical data only the latest version should be considered current. Please see the related tab for Microsoft Excel versions of the reports.

The aim of reclamation under the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act is to obtain "equivalent land capacity," which is defined as the ability of the land to support various land uses after conservation and reclamation similar to the ability that existed prior to activity being conducted on the land. This document provides the reclamation certification criteria for wellsites, access roads, and associated facilities reclaimed to peatlands. The criteria are based on land function and operability that will support the production of goods and services consistent in quality and quantity with the surrounding landscape.

Describes the risk involved in crude oil production. There is no gurantee that an oil well will be productive when drilled. In 2014, almost half of all producing oil wells in Alberta produced less than 1 cubic meter of oil each day, and another quarter produced between 1 and 2 cubic metres each day. One in a series of fact sheets produced to give Albertans a basic knowledge of the royalty system and assist them in effectively participating in royalty review discussions.
