In preparation for a full legislative review of the Child Care Licensing Act and Regulation, the Ministry of Children's Services held public consultations with various stakeholders, including parents and caregivers, child care educators, operators and stakeholder organizations, and licensing staff. The consultations took place between June 15 to July 15, 2020 and included virtual engagement sessions and online surveys. This report presents a summary of the results from the child care consultation process.

Accreditation has been available to licensed day care centres and approved family day homes since 2004; and was expanded in 2009 to include licensed out-of-school care programs.

La certification est offerte aux services de garde agréés et aux services de garde en milieu familial approuvés depuis 2004; elle a été élargie en 2009 pour inclure les programmes de garde parascolaires autorisés.
