Description

Accountability Pillar one-page overall summary for 2020 for each public, separate and Francophone school authority. Each sheet includes the current year results, as well as results for the previous year, a three-year rolling average, and provincial summary results for comparison. The Accountability Pillar gives school boards a consistent way to measure their success and assess progress using a broad spectrum of measures. Reporting results allows Albertans to see how their school authority is performing and ensures that the entire education system is open and accountable. Participation in provincial achievement tests (PATs) and diploma examinations were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. There is no October update of the AP results for these two measures. The May 2020 (Revised) overall summaries reflect the AP data released in May 2020 and the absence of the PAT and diploma examinations results in 2019/20.

The Accountability Pillar gives school boards a consistent way to measure their success and assess progress using a broad spectrum of measures. The information contained in annual results reporting provides school authorities with a wide range of data showing how they are performing, and helps them identify areas that may need improvement. School authorities report their results to their communities, allowing Albertans to see how their school authority is performing and ensuring that the entire education system is open and accountable.
