The purpose of this travel was: to profile Alberta’s agriculture, food and forestry industries to India's consumers, industry and government; to advocate on behalf of Alberta’s pulse industry for greater access to the Indian market; to act as keynote speaker during opening ceremonies of India's Pulse Conclave and the Agro Protech agricultural conference and trade event.

The purpose of this mission to the European Union member countries of the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany was to advance trade, investment and advocacy interests for the agriculture and forestry sectors. The mission also enhanced the Government of Alberta’s broader government-relations priorities in the region, by adding forestry to the scope of an existing Letter of Intent with the French Ministry of Agriculture.

The technical working groups 3 & 4 considered the applicability of parts 1-29 of the Occupational Health and Safety Code with the unique considerations of farm and ranch work. They have submitted their reports and recommendations outlining how provincial legislation could apply to farms and ranches. This report was submitted to: Minister Carlier (Agriculture and Forestry), and Minister Gray (Labour).
