Priorité littératie : un plan d’action présente les stratégies et les mesures prioritaires qu’Alberta Education mettra en oeuvre dans le but d’appuyer le cadre provincial de littératie intitulé Littératie vivante : Un cadre de littératie pour une économie de nouvelle génération en Alberta (septembre 2009) et le Plan d’action pour la littératie et l’alphabétisation (2007) du CMEC. Ce plan d’action appuie également des initiatives importantes d’Alberta Education, dont Tracer la voie, Une éducation qui inspire et la réponse du gouvernement de l’Alberta Inspirer l’action dans l’éducation.

Outlines the strategies and priority actions that Alberta Education will undertake to support the provincial literacy framework, Living Literacy: A Literacy Framework for Alberta’s Next Generation Economy, released in September 2009. and the Literacy Action Plan, released in 2007 by the Council of Ministers of Education Canada. It also supports key Alberta Education initiatives, including Setting the Direction, Inspiring Education and the Government of Alberta response Inspiring Action on Education.

This document contains a sampling of literacy projects from AISI Cycle 1 and Cycle 2 that illustrates the terrific work being done in schools across Alberta. The projects highlighted represent only a small cross section of the many innovative literacy projects taking place in Alberta schools. This document serves to inform teachers, curriculum coordinators, AISI coordinators, school administrators, central office staff and others involved in the education process about successful literacy strategies currently in use in Alberta schools. More information on each of the projects highlighted in this document can be obtained by contacting the AISI coordinator for each school authority.
