The Government of Alberta is evaluating the opportunity to build a provincial police service that is "fit for Alberta" to specifically serve and be accountable to its communities and their diverse needs. This independent report puts forward a recommended community policing deployment model for a provincial police service as part of the broader Alberta Provincial Police Transition Study.

By far, the largest police service in Alberta is the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The scope of this report is focused only on the services provided by the RCMP in Alberta today.
