In June 2007, Premier Stelmach initiated a comprehensive project to develop an integrated growth management plan for the Capital Region. A task team was appointed to investigate growth projections for the region, core and social infrastructure needs, alternative approaches to governance, and potential models for sharing in the costs of regional projects. This report provides the findings and recommendations of the project team, and includes a comprehensive framework for a regional growth management plan identifying growth projections, current plans, projected needs and gaps in land use, core infrastructure and social infrastructure.
