Description

This Children and Family Services dataset provides an overview of the number of children and youth receiving post-intervention support through the Supports for Permanency (SFP) Program, by Indigenous status (Indigenous and Non-Indigenous).   The program provides financial and other supports to families who adopt or obtain private guardianship of children in permanent government care.   The data shows the average monthly number of Indigenous and non-Indigenous children and youth in the province who are receiving post-intervention supports through the SFP program with historical information dating back ten years.   Information is available through the links listed below as aggregate data in excel, as visualizations in CI Interactive Data Tool and as descriptions of data fields and elements in the Data Dictionary.

This Children and Family Services dataset provides an overview of the number of Indigenous and non-Indigenous children and youth achieving a permanency outcome. The child intervention system is part of Alberta’s system of support for families that encourages good outcomes for children and youth.   Child intervention services are focused on the well-being of children, supporting families to be healthy, and ensuring children grow up in safe and nurturing homes. Intervention services are provided when there are concerns that a child or youth is being neglected or abused by their parent or guardian, with the goal of keeping families together (family preservation), returning children home safely (family reunification), or finding other permanent homes through legal permanency (adoption and private guardianship) for children as quickly as possible.   Permanency outcomes are posted two years after the report period end date and from there the data shows the total number of...

This Children and Family Services dataset provides an overview of the number of children and youth receiving post-intervention support through Transition to Adulthood Program (TAP) Agreements, by Indigenous status (Indigenous and Non-Indigenous). Young adults aged 18 to 24 who were previously involved with child intervention may be eligible for ongoing supports through TAP Agreements. TAP Agreements are based on the identified need of the young adult and can include financial support as well as support for housing, education, access to health services, vocational skills development, life skills mentoring, and connections to community and/or family members in order to support their successful transition to adulthood.   The data shows the average monthly number of Indigenous and non-Indigenous young adults in the province who were receiving post-intervention support through a TAP Agreement with historical information dating back ten years.   TAP was implemented in the...
