Alberta Environment and Parks has finalized a new Alberta Ambient Air Quality Guideline for total reduced sulphur compounds, to be used for odour management. Alberta Environment and Parks recognizes that further guidance is needed to reduce the operational burden related to reporting values above the Alberta Ambient Air Quality Guideline, while still achieving the desired outcome of odour management. The Air Monitoring Directive requires immediate reporting of exceedances of ambient air quality objectives and guidelines. This protocol is to outline electronic reporting procedures for ambient TRS monitoring for values above the Alberta Ambient Air Quality Guideline for both industrial operations and Alberta airsheds.

Timber dues and other fees associated with timber dispositions are collected by the province to ensure that Albertans receive fair compensation for the use of publicly-owned forest resources. The timber dues rates applied are based on current market and financial conditions are can be found in Table 4 of the Timber Dues Ministerial Order.
