This addendum outlines forest management plan-specific ground rules which apply to area outlined in Forest Management Agreement 9200030 as well as Forest Management Unit R11. These rules are in addition to the Alberta Timber Harvest Planning and Operating Ground Rules 2023. Where a rule in the addendum and a rule in the provincial OGR relate to the same subject matter or objective, the rule in the addendum governs. FMP-specific addendums are supplemental to the OGRs and will be negotiated with the applicable FMA holder where additional ground rules are needed to address specific strategies in an FMP or unique physical or non-physical landscape attributes.

This addendum outlines Forest Management Plan-specific ground rules which apply to Forest Management Agreement 9200030 as well as Forest Management Unit R11.. These rules are in addition to the Alberta Timber Harvest Planning and Operating Ground Rules 2022. Where a rule in the Addendum and a rule in the Provincial OGR relate to the same subject matter or objective, the rule in the Addendum governs. FMP-specific addendums are supplemental to the OGRs and will be negotiated with the applicable FMA holder where additional ground rules are needed to address specific strategies in an FMP or unique physical or non-physical landscape attributes. These are meant to be a small list related to specific FMP requirements and not a preferred deviation or exceptions from the provincial OGRs.

This stewardship report describes the progress made by Sundre Forest Products Inc. towards achieving the commitments set out in the 2015 forest management plan (FMP), which was approved by the Alberta government on May 31, 2018. For the purposes of this report, the reporting timeframe is May 1, 2017, to April 30, 2022. The report provides details of SFP’s progress in implementing the forest management plan's preferred forest management scenario, as well as the status of the values, objectives, indicators and targets. Stewardship reports are a mechanism to compile, analyze, and report on approved FMP commitments.

This document outlines the ground rules which apply to the area outlined in Forest Management Agreement 9200030 as well as Forest Management Unit R11. Ground rules are the practices used to plan and conduct timber harvesting operations. They put into practice decisions made in the Forest Management Plan (FMP) and other higher level plans such as integrated resource plans (IRP) and sub-regional plans (approved under the Alberta Land Stewardship Act). In the event that these strategic plans do not exist, the ground rules establish practices that minimize the chance of negative impacts from roads, timber harvesting and forest management operations and activities.

Forest company forest management plans (FMPs) detail when, where and how timber on Alberta Crown land will be managed in order to balance social, economic, and environmental needs based on input from the public, Indigenous peoples and stakeholders. The forest management area covered in this plan is FMA 9200030, allocated to Sundre Forest Products Inc. through Order-in-Council (O.C. 261/2012 dated July 24, 2012). The FMP includes the FMA and non-FMA portion of Forest Management Unit (FMU) R10, collectively known as the Defined Forest Area (DFA). The DFA is located within the North Saskatchewan Land-use Framework planning region with two partial townships in the southern tip of the FMA in the South Saskatchewan Land-use Framework planning region.
