Description

This regulation repeals four municipal investment regulations (Investment Regulation, Major Cities Investment Regulation, Muni Funds Investment Regulation, and MuniSERP Investment Regulation) and consolidates them into one regulation (the Municipal Investment Regulation). In addition to those investments authorized under section 250 of the Municipal Government Act, this regulation provides additional investment opportunities for municipalities, with some specific provisions for the cities of Calgary, Edmonton, and Medicine Hat, as well as for the Alberta Municipal Services Corporation

Description

The Regulation establishes how the City of Medicine Hat shall calculate an instalment amount each calendar month in the recovery period for the purpose of recovering the deferral amount and interest that resulted from the Act. The Regulation sets out what the City shall include in an application to recover an instalment amount and the role of the Market Surveillance Administrator to review and approve applications. The Regulation also sets out a definition for customer for the City.

Description

This Act establishes maximum electric energy rates that may be charged to regulated rate customers (as defined in the Regulated Rate Option Regulation) or specified customers of the City of Medicine Hat, during a four-year period beginning on June 1, 2017. The Act contemplates regulations to provide payments from the Minister to regulated rate option providers or to the City of Medicine Hat of the difference between amounts that would have been charged to these customers using the regulated rate or equivalent, and the amounts charged using the maximum rate(s) specified in the Act.
