This documents sets out the vision for the next decade for IMT in the Government of Alberta and a strategic road map and vision to get there. It establishes four key pillars and fifteen strategies supporting each pillar. The pillars are critical areas where transformational activities will be focused – Citizen and Organization Centric Services, Digital Government, establish a Culture of Innovation and Collaboration, and take a Government-Wide Approach.

The primary objective of this strategy is to explicitly acknowledge the value of information, the importance of managing that information at an enterprise level, and the benefits of treating information as a strategic communal resource.
