For the current study, air quality surveys were conducted in the vicinity of eleven gas plants and industrial areas in the area of Caroline and Rocky Mountain House. The objectives of the monitoring were twofold: to identify and determine the concentrations of air pollutants near industrial facilities in the survey area; and to support ongoing work of the regional compliance and approval staff.

Quarterly updates on findings of an air quality monitoring program conducted in the Caroline and Sundre area of West Central Alberta. The objectives of the program are to map the distribution of outdoor air quality parameter concentrations in the vicinity of industrial facilities in the area, to detect the influence of elevation and topography on concentrations, and to identify some of the specific sulphur and hydrocarbon compounds that may be responsible for complaints from area residents.
