The ministry coordinates an online survey of Albertans on topics related to the work of the ministry. Topics covered in the survey include arts and culture, volunteering, cultural industries, heritage sites, and gender-based violence. Results provide insight into emerging trends, help monitor the effectiveness of programs and services, and inform decisions by enhancing the Government of Alberta's understanding of the needs of Albertans.

Every two years graduates of apprenticeship programs and first period apprentices are surveyed regarding their satisfaction with their apprenticeship program and their labour market experiences. Satisfaction with various aspects of the program such as on-the job learning, classroom instruction and interaction with Client Services staff are included as well as employment status, earnings and relatedness of employment to their apprenticeship program.

Description

The Student Aid Survey is conducted biennially to determine whether programs, services, and processes of Alberta Student Aid are meeting the needs of clients and support access and affordability of post-secondary education. The survey provides valuable insight about clients’ awareness, understanding of, and satisfaction with, student aid communications, programming and policies. The survey also examines demographics of borrowers, labour market outcomes and their ability to repay loans. Findings are presented by client group (in-study and in-repayment). Findings are also broken down by institution type (Alberta public, Alberta private, and out of province). The findings are used to determine if Student Aid outcomes are being achieved.
