To support a growing visitor economy, Alberta has launched a long-term provincial tourism strategy to share Alberta's story and history with the world. The tourism strategy will help Alberta's visitor economy reach $25 billion in yearly visitor expenditures by 2035. The strategy focuses on five key pillars of leadership and alignment, competitive product, people and careers, expansion of access, and Indigenous tourism to ensure that the provinces visitor economy reaches new heights.

This provides specific guidance to stakeholders when assessing the additionality of a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions or sequestration of GHGs under the Alberta emission offset system. In order to demonstrate the additionality of the activities that are included or proposed to be included in the development or revision of an emission offset quantification protocol, the use of the tools contained in this technical guidance is a requirement for both the Alberta Climate Change Office and stakeholders. This document explains both the roles each of these parties play, and the process used for reviewing and assessing additionality during protocol development or revision.

To assess the competitive environment for these sectors and ensure that we fulfill that mandate, AI Bio completed an informal strategic foresighting process. Some key points about our sectors are the following: International experts anticipate a 70-per-cent increase in global food demand by 2050; Alberta's food, forest and agriculture sectors had sales of $26 billion in 2012, equal to almost 30 per cent of Alberta's energy sales; There has been substantial investment in Alberta's research and innovation system, which can work with industry to respond to market opportunities; Society increasingly expects resource-based economies to be environmentally responsible.

It has been designated a Species of Special Concern because of the declines in distribution and abundance, as well as continued threats from habitat alteration and introduced competitive species. This plan provides background information on the species and outlines a set of objectives and management actions to help meet the goal of restoring and maintaining viable, self-sustaining bull trout populations throughout the majority of the species' historic range in the province, and to once again provide some measure of harvest opportunity for the species. Conservation management plans are developed for Species of Special Concern in Alberta, to provide guidance for land and resource management decisions that affect the species and their habitat.
