Description

Alberta Forestry and Parks and the Alberta Energy Regulator manage the use of public lands for all Albertans through the issuance of dispositions. A disposition must be obtained under the Public Lands Act for any access to or activity on public lands and in compliance with the Public Lands Administration Regulation. The Master Schedule of Standards and Conditions (MSSC) identifies conditions that apply to formal disposition applications approved under the Public Lands Act. Conditions displayed in this document are part of multiple approval systems and processes. It is important for the users of the MSSC to also review and understand the information contained within the Pre-Application Requirements for Formal Dispositions document. This statistic describes headcounts (unique learners) by institution and academic year within Alberta's publicly-funded post-secondary education system. Headcounts represent the number of students enrolled, and are unique to each level reported, therefore summing up multiple values to "combine" values may lead to double counting, as students can be counted in multiple rows. The data tables presented are related to enrolments in approved programs at publicly-funded post-secondary institutions within Alberta. Separate data files exist focusing on the system level, or for subsets that focus on either international or self-identified Indigenous learners.

Description

The set of statistics in these datasets describe the Full Load Equivalent (FLE) by each institution and academic year within Alberta's publicly funded post-secondary education system. FLE is a measure used to allow for comparable calculations across different institutions, across different programs. The FLE is measured by taking the load of the learner enrolled (instructional hours + practicum hours) and dividing by the full load of that program. This results in a comparable metric to be able to use across the system. The FLE calculation is consistent for every institution and program. The data tables presented are related to enrolments in approved programs at publicly funded post-secondary institutions within Alberta. Separate data files exist focusing on the system level, or for subsets that focus on either international or self-identified Indigenous learners.

From 1913 to 2019, Municipal Affairs produced the Municipal Affairs Population List that contained population counts for Alberta municipalities, Metis Settlements, and First Nations communities based on the most recent municipal or federal census. In 2020, the Municipal Affairs Population List was discontinued following the repeal of the Determination of Population Regulation. With the approval of the new Municipal Census Regulation in 2023, Municipal Affairs resumed the publication of the Municipal Affairs Population List.

Economic multipliers are used to assess the impacts on the economy of an exogenous change in final demand or output of a given industry. Impacts are estimated in terms of total output, gross domestic product, employment and labour income. These multipliers reflect the structure of the Alberta economy and industry linkages during the reference year. Each publication contains multipliers specific to various industries and commodities for two models: the "Open" model covers direct and indirect impacts while the "Closed" model covers direct, indirect and induced impacts. Note regarding the 2020 input-output multipliers: Statistics Canada recommended that due to the COVID pandemic in 2020, the structure of the economy was significantly altered. Domestic well water systems are not regulated by the provincial or federal governments. The Government of Alberta along with Alberta Health Services (AHS) provides water chemistry testing of private well water and information and advice on safe water for domestic purposes; however, it is the responsibility of well owners to ensure the quality and safety of their water supply. Water quality may be impacted by contamination from natural sources or human activities and cause noticeable aesthetic issues or potential health concerns. Water samples are collected and submitted by well owners through local AHS sites for analysis of routine chemistry and trace element parameters. Routine chemistry testing focuses on the suitability of the water for drinking and household use with two health-related parameters. For trace elements, testing used to be conducted only when...
