This annual dataset provides planned fish stocking information on waterbodies within Alberta during the spring and fall stocking seasons. Please note that fish species, number stocked, and dates may change without notice. Actual fish stocking numbers are reported in the Fish Stocking Report, which is updated weekly or biweekly during spring and fall stocking seasons (see Related tab).

These endeavors aim to strengthen existing programs and explore new opportunities for community justice programs in Alberta. Funding of up to $1.2 million will be allocated for the fiscal period of 2023-24, empowering organizations to make meaningful strides in enhancing community justice. Description

This data set includes five years of historical enrolment by Full Load Equivalents (FLE) in Alberta post-secondary system and projected FLEs for a ten year projection horizon. The FLE is measured by taking the load of the learner enrolled (instructional hours + practicum hours) and dividing by the full load of that program. This results in a comparable metric to be able to use across the system. The FLE calculation is consistent for every institution and program. Alberta Advanced Education's (AE) projection model uses historical enrolment data and population projections from Alberta Treasury Board and Finance as inputs to the model.

Mercury (Hg) enters the environment through natural processes and human activities. There are three forms of Hg: elemental (metallic) mercury, inorganic mercury salts and organic mercury compounds. Methylmercury (MeHg) is often formed from inorganic mercury during biological processes such as methylation by microorganisms in water and sediment. MeHg can accumulate in aquatic organisms including fish. People are exposed to very low levels of mercury in the air, water and food. Some people may be exposed to relatively higher levels of mercury by eating MeHg-containing fish. MeHg accumulates in the human body over time and because it is a known neurotoxin, it is necessary to limit human exposure to MeHg. To protect public health, Health Canada has proposed mercury guidelines and advisories for fish consumption based on total mercury (THg; all forms of Hg in a sample). The estimates make up part of the Government’s annual budget, which also includes the fiscal plan, the government’s strategic or performance plan, and the ministry business plans.
