Description

The Alberta government maintains a central registry of property that has been presumed abandoned by its owner. In these cases, the person or entity that keeps or maintains property is required to report and transfer the abandoned property or its cash equivalent to Alberta Tax and Revenue Administration (TRA). Any person with a legal claim to the property can file a claim, within 10 years of TRA receiving the property. The document below explains the file format requirements to submit property to TRA by uploading an XML file. A detailed XML schema file is also available to help property holders ensure that their file is in the correct format.

Description

The Government of Alberta Annual Report is the report to Albertans on the previous year’s budget. It is a permanent public record of the dollars spent and the results achieved by the Government of Alberta for the report’s fiscal year. The annual report includes an executive summary with key fiscal information, the consolidated financial statements and a report on performance results. Beginning in 2018-2019, the audited consolidated financial statements include information previously contained in ministry annual reports.

The Fiscal Plan outlines the government’s forecasts for the economy, revenue and spending, and main policy decisions or initiatives. Provided in an open data format are chapters of the Fiscal Plan. The Fiscal Plan is the centerpiece of the Government’s annual budget, which also includes the estimates, the government’s strategic plan, and the ministry business plans. These searchable files provide information on grant payments made by the Government of Alberta departments and select agencies to support programs and initiatives throughout the province. The payment data is available in files for each fiscal year (April 1 to March 31). The data identifies: the ministry which provided the grant; the grant recipient; the payment amount; the program under which the grant was made; and whether the grant was funded by the Lottery Fund.
