Description

This functional planning study considered requirements for the upgrading and twinning of a section of Highway 3 from the Town of Taber to west of the Hamlet of Burdett. The purpose of this study is to identify staged options to upgrade the highway to a twinned freeway corridor and identify future interchange locations. Highway 3 is part of Canada’s National Highway System (NHS), moving people, goods and services interprovincially and internationally. The corridor provides a primary connection between southern Alberta to provinces east and west and is one of only three continuous east-west routes through Alberta.

Description

The Turner Valley gas plant site, used for many decades for petroleum production and refining, was decommissioned after 1985 and was designated as a historic site in 1995. A reclamation program was implemented for the redevelopment of the site. As part of the reclamation program, a groundwater containment and treatment system was constructed to contain and treat impacted groundwater. The purpose of the 2008 groundwater monitoring program was to collect groundwater data in order to assess the performance of the remediation system.

The Turner Valley gas plant site, used for many decades for petroleum production and refining, was decommissioned after 1985 and was designated as a historic site in 1995. Presents the results of groundwater monitoring at the historic Turner Valley gas plant. The objective of this program was to improve the understanding of groundwater flow at the site and delineate the distribution of contaminants of concern along the boundaries of the site. The Turner Valley gas plant, western Canada’s first natural gas processing and refining facility and the site of Alberta’s first major oil and gas discovery, is a provincial historic resource and a national historic site.

Description

The Turner Valley gas plant site, used for many decades for petroleum production and refining, was decommissioned after 1985 and was designated as a historic site in 1995. A reclamation program was implemented for the redevelopment of the site. In July 2008, iron oxide seeps were observed at the site. This series of documents details the response and investigation into the source of these seeps.
