Description

This regulation is made under the Electric Utilities Act and sets out the details of the Independent System Operator's duties and obligations regarding transmission, including consultation requirements, requirements for transmission system planning and forecasting and reliability standards. The regulation also specifies requirements respecting the construction of transmission facility projects, and requirements regarding the determination of transmission system losses, charges and credits. It also sets out responsibilities of the Alberta Utilities Commission regarding approval of transmission facilities and transmission tariffs.

The Act also establishes requirements for approval of the Alberta Utilities Commission to construct and operate an electric distribution system, and for the determination of service areas for electric distribution systems.

This regulation is made under the Mineral Resource Development Act and establishes permitting, licencing, approval, and operating standards for rock-hosted mineral resource development to encourage the efficient, safe, orderly and environmentally responsible development of Alberta’s rock-hosted mineral resources. This regulation enacts rules governing approvals for rock-hosted mineral resource mine sites, mines, external mine discard dumps, and processing plants. The rules also govern production and closure operations, and set administrative standards for recording, collecting, and reporting rock-hosted mineral resource mine and processing plant data.
