(Canfor) in the 2015 forest management plan, which was approved by the Alberta government on April 18, 2016. This report provides details of Canfor’s progress in implementing the FMP Preferred Forest Management Scenario as well as the status of the Values, Objectives, Indicators and Targets.

This document outlines the ground rules which apply to the Weyerhaeuser Forest Management Agreement area 6900016. Ground rules are the practices used in planning and conducting timber harvesting operations. They constitute the methods used to implement decisions made in forest management plans and other higher-level plans such as integrated resource plans. Ground rules establish practices that minimize the chance of negative effects from timber harvesting and forest management operations and activities.

Forest company forest management plans (FMPs) detail when, where and how timber on Alberta Crown land will be managed in order to balance social, economic and environmental needs based on input from the public, Indigenous peoples and interest groups. The forest management planning area under consideration is FMA 6900016, allocated to Weyerhaeuser Company Limited (Grande Prairie) through legislative Order-in-Council (O.C. 503/2007) dated November 14, 2007. The FMP includes the FMA and non-FMA portion of Forest Management Unit (FMU) G16, collectively known as the Defined Forest Area (DFA). The DFA is located entirely within the Upper Peace Land-use Framework planning region in west central Alberta; it falls within the Alpine, Subalpine, Montane, Upper Foothills, Lower Foothills, Dry Mixedwood and Central Mixedwood Natural Subregions.

The forest management planning area under consideration is FMA 9900037. The FMP covers Forest Management Unit G15 located in west central Alberta within the Upper Peace Land-Use Framework planning region; it falls within the Subalpine, Upper Foothills, Lower Foothills and Central Mixedwood and Dry Mixedwood Natural Subregions.

Crown forest management plans (FMPs) detail when, where and how timber on Alberta Crown land will be managed in order to balance social, economic and environmental needs based on input from the public, Indigenous peoples and interest groups. The preparation of the FMU G13 FMP was a joint effort between the Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC) and the Government of Alberta. The FMP covers FMU G13, which includes the GPRC training forest located east of Grande Prairie.
