This functional planning study was undertaken to review previous plans for northeast Anthony Henday Drive and Highway 16 and update them to include changes in standards and updated population projections. Study of anticipated population growth, projection of anticipated future traffic volumes, and definition of resulting highway right-of-way was deemed necessary. Another important component of the study included a significant effort on structural drawings for many of the bridges in the study area.
