Environmental assessment registry documents pertaining to the proposed MD of Acadia and Special Areas Joint Irrigation Project ("the Project"). Located approximately 250 km east of Calgary and 100 km north from Medicine Hat, Alberta, the Project is a proposed greenfield irrigation project that will provide irrigation within the MD of Acadia and Special Areas. The Project requires a new Red Deer River pump station and will involve pumping water from the Red Deer River and storing it in reservoirs to use for irrigation. The Project will include the creation of two preliminary reservoirs, one (with a live storage volume of approximately 34,000,000 m3 and a maximum dam height of 30.5 m) located 1 km north of the Red Deer River, on the boundary between the MD of Acadia and Special Area No. 3, and the other (with a live storage volume of approximately 134,000,000 m3 and a maximum dam height of 40 m) located approximately 5.5 km southwest of Bindloss, AB. Environmental Impact Assessment and associated applications pertaining to the proposed St. Mary Irrigation District Chin Reservoir Expansion Project. Chin Reservoir is an off-stream storage reservoir that is located roughly in the middle of St. Mary River Irrigation District (SMRID) irrigation network, approximately 30 kilometers (km) east of Lethbridge and 15 km south of Taber. The Chin Reservoir Expansion Project (the Project) involves the construction of a new dam which would result in a larger reservoir. The new dam would be approximately 40 meters (m) in height and is expected to inundate (flood) approximately 650 hectares (ha) of privately held land within Chin Coulee. In Alberta, equalized assessment is the means of comparing property wealth in a uniform manner for all municipalities. Alberta uses an ad valorem assessment and tax system where property taxes are based on wealth and wealth is measured by the value of property expressed as an assessment. Equalizing an assessment is simply a process of adjusting each municipality's taxable assessment to a common year in accordance with current legislation and policy. The equalization process results in a common provincial assessment base that is used to determine the amount of requisition for each requisitioning body.

(ASC is a wholly owned subsidiary of United Industrial Services Ltd. (UIS).) ASC is authorized to explore the silica sand under Metallic and Industrial Minerals Permit No. 9393080332; ASC is authorized to extract the silica sand under Metallic and Industrial Mineral Lease No. 9496110001; and to surface develop, on Crown land, the sand pits and the processing plant required under Mineral Surface Lease No. MSL 941817. The lease area comprises approximately 1300 hectares (3200 acres), 300 ha (740 acres) on the west side and approximately 1010 ha (2500 acres) on the east side of the Peace River.
