The role of the OLEP Provincial Advisory Committee is to discuss and strategize direction and leadership to ensure the vitality of francophone education, French Immersion and French-as-a-second-language programming in Alberta through targeted funding, enriched program delivery, and collaborative action.

The project is funded under the Canada–Alberta Agreement on Minority-Language Education and Second Official-Language Instruction 2020-21 to 2022-23, which includes a commitment to improving francophone and French-language teacher recruitment and retention.

This project aims to develop and adapt new digital and print teaching and learning resources for teachers and parents to support them in either a face-to-face or synchronous online delivery context. Core subjects for French Immersion kindergarten to Grade 9 and French as a Second Language (FSL) grades 4 to 9 resource packages will be classroom validated throughout the various development phases during the 2021-2022 school year and will be made available to all English-speaking school divisions that offer French Immersion and FSL Programs. The project is funded under the Canada–Alberta Agreement on Minority-Language Education and Second Official-Language Instruction 2020-21 to 2022-23, which includes a commitment to improving francophone and French-language teacher recruitment and retention.
