Results from aerial mountain goat population surveys conducted in the Willmore Wilderness Park from June 23-July 12, 2021. The objective of the surveys was to inform the status of mountain goat populations in the Northwest Region which have traditionally supported licensed or unlicensed harvest and four complexes where declines have resulted in very small populations with high conservation risk.

Results from aerial ungulate surveys conducted on February 5-7 and 9-10, 2020 in all known bighorn sheep winter ranges in wildlife management units 328, 414, 418, 420, 422, 426, 428, 429, 430, 432, 434, 734 (Ghost Wilderness Area) and 738 (White Goat). This report summarizes the results of the 2020 winter survey on provincial lands. Details on the Banff Park survey are reported separately.

Additionally updated population numbers will be used to confirm the progress of elk hunting in controlling population growth.

The NTS provides tourism information for travel in Alberta by domestic visitors from Alberta and other parts of Canada, and includes same-day and overnight trips for Albertans and residents from other parts of Canada. Detailed estimates for international visitors are not available at the provincial and tourism regional level due to small sample sizes and limited data from the Visitor Travel Survey (VTS). Detailed characteristics are only available for Canadian visitors.
