Description

Alberta's government continues to review and update the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Code to ensure workplace health and safety rules keep pace with new best practices, standards and technology. The OHS Code is a regulation of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and contains the detailed technical requirements for controlling health and safety hazards at workplaces. The review process includes public engagement and surveys. The reports below contain a summary of feedback received during public engagement.

Contains research data collected in support of a 2017 study to pilot and benchmark potential performance measures for the internal responsibility system (IRS) and identify which measures are associated with injury rates. The study is based upon an online poll conducted between March 24 and April 5, 2017 on behalf of the researchers by a commercial polling company. The respondents comprised 2,000 Albertans engaged in paid employment in the previous 12 months.
