Description

The report presents descriptions of the data on the cultural and physical features of the Chip Lake area, located in west-central Alberta, and the formation, character, and limitations of the soils. In addition, it outlines the methods used in chemical and physical analyses, defines terms describing significant features of the map area and of the field classification, includes physical analyses for engineering purposes, and gives a classification of the soils. The soil map included with the report shows the location and extent of the different soil areas and indicates the main topographic features. The soil rating map indicates the better land from the poorer land and serves as a guide to future agricultural development.

The soil map shows the location and extent of the different soil areas and indicates the main topographical features. The soil rating map shows a suggested productivity grouping based on a rating of the soils.
