This data set reflects child care programs in Alberta licensed under the Child Care Licensing Act (prior to February 2021) and under the Early Learning and Child Care Act (February 2021 and after).   Data prior to February 2021 included reflects child care programs in Alberta licensed under the Child Care Licensing Act. Program types under the Child Care Licensing Act included day care programs, out-of-school care programs, preschool programs, group family child care, family day homes (approved by a licensed family day home agency), and innovative child care programs.   In February 2021, child care licensing changed from program-based to facility-based under the Early Learning and Child Care Act. Respondents for the 2021/22 survey include senior high school students, self-identified First Nations, Métis and Inuit high school students, parents of students in the Early Childhood Services (ECS) to Grade 12 education system, parents of self-identified First Nations, Métis and Inuit students, parents of students with severe disabilities, teachers in the ECS to Grade 12 system, principals, school board trustees, and the general public. The Student Transportation Task Force was created in the spring of 2020 to review student transportation service across the province. The task force's mandate was to provide a report to the Minister of Education that contains recommendations related, but not limited, to: school board and industry responsibility for student transportation; student transportation eligibility; student transportation legislation and regulation; student transportation safety; and student transportation co-operation among partners. The report was provided to the Minister of Education in late 2020.
