This Children and Family Services dataset provides an overview of the number of children and youth receiving child intervention services by placement type and Indigenous status (Indigenous and Non-Indigenous).   Child intervention services are focused on the well-being of children, supporting families to be healthy and ensuring children grow up in safe and nurturing homes.   The data shows the average monthly number of Indigenous and non-Indigenous children and youth in the province who are receiving child intervention services. More specifically, it shows the number in varying placement options with historical information dating back ten years.   Information is available through the links listed below as aggregate data in excel, as visualizations in CI Interactive Data Tool and as descriptions of data fields and elements in the Data Dictionary.

This Children and Family Services dataset provides an overview of the number of children and youth receiving child intervention services by type of care and Indigenous status (Indigenous and Non-Indigenous). Child intervention services are focused on the well-being of children, supporting families to be healthy and ensuring children grow up in safe and nurturing homes.   The data shows the average monthly number of Indigenous and non-Indigenous children and youth in the province who are receiving child intervention services. More specifically, it shows the number in temporary care, permanent care and receiving services while at home (not in care) with historical information dating back ten years.   Information is available through the links listed below as aggregate data in excel, as visualizations in CI Interactive Data Tool and as descriptions of data fields and elements in the Data Dictionary.

Description

This Children and Family Services dataset provides an overview of the number of Indigenous and non-Indigenous children and youth achieving a permanency outcome. The child intervention system is part of Alberta’s system of support for families that encourages good outcomes for children and youth. Child intervention services are focused on the well-being of children, supporting families to be healthy, and ensuring children grow up in safe and nurturing homes. Intervention services are provided when there are concerns that a child or youth is being neglected or abused by their parent or guardian, with the goal of keeping families together (family preservation), returning children home safely (family reunification), or finding other permanent homes through legal permanency (adoption, private guardianship and termination of PGO/PGA) for children as quickly as possible. This Children and Family Services dataset provides an overview of the number of children and youth receiving post-intervention support through the Supports for Permanency (SFP) Program, by Indigenous status (Indigenous and Non-Indigenous).   The program provides financial and other supports to families who adopt or obtain private guardianship of children in permanent government care.   The data shows the average monthly number of Indigenous and non-Indigenous children and youth in the province who are receiving post-intervention supports through the SFP program with historical information dating back ten years.   Information is available through the links listed below as aggregate data in excel, as visualizations in CI Interactive Data Tool and as descriptions of data fields and elements in the Data Dictionary.
