This handbook is an introduction to the fundamental rights and responsibilities employers and workers have when it comes to occupational health and safety on Alberta farms and ranches. It explains what both groups need to do to be in compliance with the OHS Act and Regulations. It also provides examples of some of the more common hazards on a farm or ranch setting, and what can be done to help keep everyone healthy and safe on the job.

A worker hauling oats to a farm was found trapped between the frame and the box of a grain truck the worker had been operating. The worker was pronounced deceased at the scene.
