The Order establishes every October 4 as Sisters in Spirit Day in Alberta. Sisters in Spirit Day is observed nationally as a day to commemorate the lives impacted or lost by violence against Indigenous women and girls. The commemoration includes vigils and supports the families and survivors of these missing or murdered Indigenous women and girls.
